Symint™

In the area of Provence, France, an organically grown crop of peppermint stands out for its cultivation according to the ethical and sustainable farming standards represented by Fair for Life® certification, which emphasizes social equity and ecology. Once the peppermint has been harvested and dried, the plants are delivered to Groupe Berkem’s facilities, where they enter a double aqueous extraction and filtration process producing a concentrated powder.

Traditional use

Mint plants have a long history of traditional use, dating to ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome where they were used as stomach soothers and traditionally used to helps symptomatic relief of digestive disorders such as dyspepsia, flatulence and as an aid for the digestion.

Proprietary in vitro studies

The ability of Symint™ to maintain healthy intestinal inflammation  was evaluated in vitro using an intestinal cell line. It was demonstrated that Symint™ reduces the production of pro-inflammatory markers in a dose-dependent manner. Its antioxidant capacity was also confirmed in a DPPH assay, which demonstrated dose-dependent free radical neutralisation. This suggests that Symint™ has the capacity to scavenge free radicals and reduce oxidative stress.
